Every resident has a story. We want to hear yours.
Our residents overcame so much to get where they are today. We are inspired by their courage and commitment and we are proud of their strength.

Former Patient at Concord Nursing & Rehabilitation CenterI had severe arthritis—I couldn’t stand, let alone walk. Thanks to the Concord team, I’m back on my feet again. They’re miracles workers!

Patient at Concord Nursing & Rehabilitation Center"I had suffered a stroke and was seriously incapacitated. I couldn’t walk—I couldn’t even dress myself. I had been to four nursing homes before, but it wasn’t until I came to Concord Center that I began to feel I could get better. The staff made me feel very welcome and—this is important to me—they answered whenever I called. They responded within minutes. The entire team worked together to encourage me and make me stronger. And the place itself is immaculate. My daughter said to me: “Mommy, this building is so clean and smells so good!” Believe me, this is my fifth nursing home, and by far the best. I came here without even being able to dress on my own, now I’m independent again! Amazing!"

Former patient at Concord Nursing and Rehabilitation CenterI’ll admit I was scared. I had a stroke followed by kidney failure. Frightened about my health, but also about being put into a “home.” The idea of it seemed so dreary. The reality proved far different. The moment I entered Concord, my fears started to disappear the people there—residents and staff—were so welcoming and friendly. And the therapists knew exactly how to make me feel stronger. I’m thankful to the entire staff of Concord. I had been afraid of being put into a “home.” Instead, the team there made it feel like my home away from home!

Patient at Concord Nursing & Rehabilitation CenterWhen I had my leg amputated, I thought I’d never walk again. But the therapists here have worked wonders. I’m adjusting to my prosthetic leg, and will be walking soon!

Patient at Concord Nursing & Rehabilitation Center"I was very weak and in terrible pain. I could hardly move and I was confined to a wheelchair. It got so bad, I didn’t want to get out of bed. I was sad, angry and depressed about my condition. Coming to Concord Center turned out to be a blessing. The doctors and nurses met me at the door and welcomed me with open arms. It made me smile despite the pain. The very next day, the therapists got me moving. It was very hard at first, but each day it got a little easier. They did a marvelous job. Soon after, the activities department introduced me to a program of religious services, parties and arts and crafts. The entire Concord Center team slowly but surely made me feel better and stronger. The pain, sadness and anger are gone, and I’m walking again. Amen!"

Former Patient At Concord Nursing & Rehabilitation CenterI had been in and out of the hospital, being treated for cancer and a staph infection. At last I was discharged for my recovery and rehab, but I was extremely weak and unsteady, my condition complicated by my arthritis. I wondered if I’d ever be able to function on my own. The team at Concord Center answered with a resounding Yes! The therapy was great, putting together a customized plan to build the strength of my hips and knees. Not only did they make me stronger, they gave me the confidence I needed to get back on my feet. In less than two months, the Concord Center team had me walking on my own. I’m back home with my family now, and I’ll never forget the therapists who made it possible!
